What I do
RACE CYCLING ROCKS!
That being said – there is not much more to say :-)
Once in a while when I have had enough of my daily work, I go training. I do a lot of training. Running, swimming, cycling, skiing, ice-skating, climbing…you name it: a lot.
There is a certain passion that drives me to tantalize myself. :-) I love the feeling of aching and burning muscles while climbing up a steep hill for example…The shower afterwards is the best anyway. Taking part at numerous competitions is self-evident. Usually there is no possibility for me to go beyond German borders according to my student status and the lack of some cash. Most cycling races I take part at are local races or within Germany. Events, I regularly participate: Vattenfall Cyclassics Hamburg, Charity Bike Cup Stuttgart, Veloton Berlin and many more…My absolute passion is race cycling in the summer season and skiing or ice-skating in winter. I regularly take part at an international mogul skiing competition where the world elite competes – the Triftij Bumpbash. Based in the most beautyful skiing resort ever seen – Zermatt, Matterhorn Switzerland. I used to get sponsored but unfortunately the event became smaller every year and vanished completely in 2010, which is a pity. It was my best time around the year to get massive training and relaxation at the same time…hopefully the event will catch up again and get as big as it was many years ago.
Update: Times have changed – exams coming up and writing my thesis keeps me off the major training sessions. A run in the evening is the most I get. But that needs to change after finishing my study otherwise I’ll blow up like a cow on coke.
